The Longshore Workers’ Coalition announced on 8/20 that ILA President, Richard Hughes, is trying to push through a contract extension which he negotiated behind closed doors without the rank-and-file elected bargaining committee.

He has called the ILA Executive Board together on Wednesday August 26 to discuss the proposed contract. The Wage Scale Committee has been convened in Orlando, Florida, on September 1 to discuss the contract.

We want more time to moblize for a strong contract! ILA members need to moblize and we need more communication and information so we can bargain with the USMX as equals.
