What could have been a Contract Action Team

President Maldonado wanted to skip elections for delegates in violation of our constitutions and the NLRA. I felt it was important to have an election for at the very least the number of delegates of our locals voting strength which is 5. The idea, of course, is that the delegates would form a Contract Action Team within the local to gather information and keep people informed and organized. Sadly, none of this has happened. The ILA has chosen black box negotiations and imposed an Omertà on the wage scale committee.

Here are 2 PDF's. Please take a look. One, of the flyer I made running for delegate; the other of the charge I had to file to get an election for delegates rather than appointment by the president. Both are interesting documents in hindsight not only for what they requested but for how much better off we would be had they been brought to life, so to speak. President Maldonado refused to discuss the remedy for the charge with me but went ahead and publicized an election for a single delegate rather than the 2 delegates per delegate vote that I requested. At the time of the election our membership was at least 424 giving 1588 5 delegate votes. At the very least we should've had an election for 3 delegates not one - the president and secretary treasurer are delegates ex officio. In hindsight I should have boycotted the sham process. I lost the election in a landslide.

In addition, here's a link to the 2024 Contract Demands I submitted.
